Bachman Named Player, Rookie of the Year

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Colorado College goaltender Richard Bachman became only the second player in league history to be named player and rookie of the year by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association at its awards banquet Thursday.
Tigers defenseman Jack Hillen was named WCHA defensive player of the year.
Curtis Joseph, who played for Wisconsin, also won both honors in the 1988-89 season.

Why is it that at least two if not all three were in the top Hobey 10? I blame the CC Athletic Department's Marketing team for the problem. They should have spent more time working on promoting their candidates for the Hobey, than they did trying to sell out the last few tickets at the World Arena. Hillen, Rau and Backman are top ten national players and it is just wrong that they were not part of this year's Hobey.

Agreed - seems like a pretty big snub for CC not to have anyone as a top 10 hobey canidate. Hopefully that will give them a bigger chip on the shoulder in the WCHA and national playoffs.
